The world seems like a scarier place these days. Here are tourist destinations that’ll send you home alive. they have little to no terrorism – and little to no street violence, either.
Wellington. In New Zealand, you might get knocked out by the majestic mountains, or by a random rugby ball, but not likely by some violent ruffian.
Ljubljana Castle. With little to nothing in the way of either internal conflict or terrorism, Slovenia is one of the safest places to be.
Who’d want to go to an Arctic island just to start trouble? No one, apparently. Iceland has few homicides, few people in jail and fewer terror acts.
Trois-Rivières, Quebec. There was that guy who attacked the Parliament House. Aside from that, have you ever even heard of violence in Canada?
Legoland Billund. There’s nothing rotten in Denmark after all. Just clean air and happiest-ranked people in the world.
Kinkajuji Temple. Japan is clean, orderly…and safe. Crime and terrorism are essentially nonexistent.
Halstatt. Austria might not be the cultural center it used to be in Mozart or Beethoven’s era, but if safety is what you like, the hills are alive with it.
Old Town Zurich. You’d never think the Swiss once had one of the most feared armies in Europe. Today, and as far back as anyone can remember, Switzerland is legendary for its peaceful society.
Prague has become legendary for its cross between quaintness and hipster cool. It’s peaceful without being, well, slow.
Porto Portugal. Lisbon is inexpensive, gorgeous, interesting…and safe. Let’s go!
